Agave Didgerdoos
These agave didgeridoos are made by Rob Thomas and Tanya Gerard of
Inlakesh.
We have 19 years combined experience playing didgeridoos &
have performed together since 1990.
We have been making Agave didgeridoos for nearly 5 years now & only create instruments that we ourselves would keep to perform & record with.
We have taken these to Arnhem Land & given them as gifts of appreciation to aboriginal players there, as well as had a couple come over here to get them from us.
Well known Aboriginal Elder David Blanassi (who taught Australian musician
Rolph Harris) & Tom Kelley (well known aboriginal didgeridoo maker of Arnhem Land) both have an agave didgeridoo made by us, along with Tibetan Musician Nawong Kechog who tours with Kitaro, Richie Haven and many, many other didgeridoo players throughout the U.S., Australia & Europe.
We personally harvest each agave stalk and make each instrument with respect for both the land of the plant and the culture that initiated the use of the didgeridoo.
No plant is ever harvested while still living nor ones that have become nests for birds or any other visible animals.
By always harvesting plants that have completed their sacred mission of spreading seed, you ensure the future dreaming of the desert & future stalks for didgeridoos!
During the 3 week transformational period from cactus stalk to didgeridoo, we take special care to create internal shapes that will produce a dynamic & balanced tonal range with excellent back pressure.
The back pressure of these instruments makes them perfect for beginning players and for players who like to focus on rythmical styles.
These instruments are lightweight, easy to carry around & have been made to
last.
They are thoroughly sealed with very strong resins and oils that bring out the sound, the natual grains of the wood & make them durable.
We guarantee the craftsmanship of every instrument for 90 days & want to be sure you get the instrument right for your needs.
If after 7 days of playing your new didgeridoo you don't feel like its going to work
well for you, you can return it to us for another one as long as you cover the shipping costs. This has never actually happened, but we like the guarantee to ensure that everyone receives an instrument that inspires them to play.
Each didgeridoo also comes with an instructional cassette.
Shipping costs are $15 for Agave Didgeridoo, $20 for Traditional Didgeridoo as well as the Agave Didjeridoos of Category 6 and 7.
This includes insurance, bubble wrap & heavy cardboard wrapping. If your getting more than one we can work out another price over the phone. Usually its only a bit more for shipping in multiples.
* Instruments with exceptionally large bottom bells are rare and usually cost between $25 to $50 more depending on size.
